Malam Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to president Muhammadu Buhari, who returned to Nigeria from Germany on March 14, had participated in several state functions and unofficial engagements that attracted prominent personalities. He tested positive to coronavirus (COVID-19) yesterday. He had attended events involving President Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, many governors, ministers and other top government functionaries before the result of the test. It was gathered that yesterday’s confirmation that Kyari tested positive to COVID-19 necessitated the subsequent test on President Muhammadu Buhari, which turned out to be negative. Prince Charles Tests Positive To Coronavirus

Prince Charles has tested positive for coronavirus. Clarence House confirmed that the 71-year-old royal had been diagnosed with the COVID-19 disease in a statement released this morning. The heir to the throne is said to have displayed "mild symptoms" but "otherwise remains in good health", and has been self-isolating in Scotland with the Duchess of Cornwall - who has tested negative for the coronavirus. "The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus," the statement said. "He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual. "The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus. In accordance with government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland. "The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing.

Food Vendor 'Mama Aroma' Burnt To Death In Delta For Cooking With Mortuary Water

Reports making rounds online have it that a popular food vendor from Ughelli, Nigeria’s Delta State was burnt into ashes by an angry mob following accusations that she uses water from the mortuary to prepare her food. The woman nicknamed ‘Mama Aroma’ is reported to be notorious in the area for preparing delicious meals that are in high demand. Before her alleged death, the food vendor reportedly sold her Banga rice on a truck in the market where people form long queues to patronise her services. According to local media reports, a mortuary worker who had been seeing her come to the mortuary at night to fetch the water which has been used to bath dead bodies decided to monitor her to ascertain what she uses it for. ‘Mama Aroma’ got into trouble when the said mortuary man followed her to her joint in the market and raised an alarm, prompting the youth to subject her to instant injustice. Packaging food in polythene bags causes cancer – NAFDAC The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) has warned that polythene bags popularly known as nylon causes cancer. It appealed to Nigerians to stop using the materials for food packaging. Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of NAFDAC spoke in a chat with journalists on Monday in Abuja. “Packaging of pap in nylon is not encouraging; green leaves are all over the place, leaf is the best thing to use for packaging item and it must be clean”, she said. “Nylon is not good for packaging hot food because the heat will make the nylon leak chemicals, it must be discouraged.” The DG explained that plastic materials usually have Bisphenol A (BPA) which can cause cancer. “We are doing a study in our labs on different packaging of food, especially on nylon.
